Who will lose their head? Who will win the queen’s heart? Who will befriend Alice? Who will you be? Come dressed to impress for the costume contest and step through the looking glass for an evening of drag cabaret, extravagance and fundraising in Wonderland.
San Francisco Night Ministry is not the Christian community you might expect with the word “Ministry” in the name. We are an interfaith and no-faith community chaplaincy organization. We can and do offer prayer and intention, while we also support people of no-faith with listening and genuine care. Our most important component of faith is that we believe every single human deserves to be seen and heard and loved.
Our mission is to provide free access to spiritual care and emotional support on the streets of San Francisco and on the phones across the nation, every night of the week, for any and every person in need. Our history is rooted in advocacy among those who are outcasts and marginalized by society. Starting with bar ministry in the 60s, providing care and support for underage queer youth and runaways, SFNM became a key supporter and voice (even smuggling photographs out of a police-raided drag ball!) for police reforms to protect San Francisco’s queer community. We support people emotionally and spiritually regardless of identity. This fundraiser will help keep us on the streets and on the phones 365 nights a year, as well as continue to offer a range of daytime spiritual and emotional support programs.
