When our beloved Heklina passed, she left behind a treasure trove of queer history—boxes upon boxes of videotapes in various formats, documenting decades of San Francisco drag. From the earliest Trannyshack shows at The Stud to iconic performances that shaped our community, these tapes capture a vibrant, irreverent, and revolutionary era that deserves to be preserved and shared.

But time is not on our side. Video formats degrade, and the process of digitizing, organizing, and properly archiving these materials is both time-consuming and expensive.

We’re calling on our community—friends, fans, and fellow weirdos—to help us raise the funds needed to professionally transfer and safeguard this archive so future generations can experience the wild, wonderful world Heklina helped create.

Come celebrate the life, legacy, and lunacy of a drag legend—while helping us preserve the herstory she helped make.
